Sukarav Tech Paints is a chemical-technology startup focused on developing advanced functional coatings for both industrial and artistic applications. Our core innovations include phosphorescent (glow-in-the-dark), and thermochromic paints, all custom-formulated using a carefully selected range of raw materials suited for Zimbabwean conditions. These solvent-based paints are engineered to address practical challenges such as low visibility, inadequate safety signage, and uninspiring surfaces. They are optimized for use on concrete, metal, canvas, and other common materials — and can be applied using standard brush, roller, or spray techniques. Purpose: To drive local innovation in smart coatings and reduce reliance on imported specialty paints. Impact: Improves safety, reduces energy costs, and opens new artistic and commercial frontiers in Zimbabwe and beyond.

Key Milestones
- Formulated glow-in-the-dark paint using strontium aluminate pigment for both indoor and outdoor use.
- Created and tested solvent-based base paints (white, black, gloss) for blending and application flexibility
- Developed canvas paint for artistic use, tested for opacity, glow strength, and durability.
- Initiated construction of a glow simulation chamber for controlled environment testing
- Invited by Tongaat Huletts Hippo Valley Estates for an on-site demonstration of industrial safety applications Delivered a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt to the Minister of ICT as part of national outreach and innovation exposure
