Overview of MOUs, MOAs, and Partnership Agreements Signed by MSU

Midlands State University (MSU) has established numerous agreements with various partners to enhance education, research, and community engagement. Below is an overview of notable MOUs, MOAs, and partnership agreements, including an overview of commercialization efforts.

  • Overview: This MOA facilitates a framework of cooperation on activities of the two organizations that strengthen mutual understanding, cooperation, collaboration and exchange between the parties involved.
  • Purpose: To promote cultural exchange and enhance academic collaboration, allowing students from both institutions to study abroad for a semester or year.
  • Detail:MSU has developed a loan management system for ZB financial Holdings which will be launched very soon.
  • Overview: This MOU outlines a collaborative research initiative focused on research and development, marketing, sharing information and development of prototypes in software development and or telecommunication related issues.
  • Purpose: To combine resources and expertise in conducting joint research projects aimed at improving agricultural practices.
  • Details: The agreement has facilitated the development of ICT solutions that will be shared and marketed by Powertel.
  • Overview: This partnership agreement establishes a framework for collaboration between MSU and a local tech company for internship programs.
  • Purpose: To jointly develop, produce and brand nature-based pharmaceuticals and nutraceutical.
  • Overview: This MOU aims to enhance community engagement through joint service projects.
  • Purpose: To MOU intends to facilitate effective cooperation in respect of innovation, research, development and thought leadership in areas of financial technology, risk management and banking services.

Activities: Volunteer programs, workshops, and community events that involve both students and community members

  • Overview: This MOA seeks to facilitate research and possible commercialization of mushroom spawn and fodder production and techniques between the University and the partner.
  • Purpose: To partner in the research and development of mushroom spawn production and hydroponic fodder cultivation including knowledge and skills transfer.
  • Detail: The agreement has resulted in the capacity of the university to independently produce its own mushroom spawn for oyster, research is at an advanced stage for button spawn and other varieties.
  • Overview: This MOU aims to enhance community engagement through joint service projects in food processing.
  • Purpose: The MOU intends to facilitate collaboration in food processing Technology, engineering and biotechnology which are relevant to community development.

Detail: Discussions are underway between the partner and potential funders for equipment targeting innovations in food processing.
